A graduate of University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business, Paul has over 35 years experience in building and leading businesses—from Vice President Marketing and Sales for a leading U.S. household goods carrier, to Co-Founder and President of a multi million dollar, full service marketing agency, to CEO of PHB Management Advisory Group, an advisory firm dedicated to CEO and senior team success.
Foundation in Marketing, Sales, and Business…
Paul began his business career in marketing at NW Ayer West—one of the largest advertising agencies worldwide—and subsequently with Metromedia in Los Angeles, now Fox Broadcasting.
He later became the Vice President of Marketing for the Moving and Storage Division of The Bekins Company. As Vice President, Paul sat on the senior management team, leading an in-house marketing group and nationwide sales force in designing and launching multi-million dollar marketing action plans for several of its key brands.
Entrepreneur, Founder, Executive Leader…
In the early 1980s, Paul left Bekins to start and build his own business, The Practice Builder Agency, known now as Practice Builders. As its co-founder, he grew this enterprise to become the largest, full-service, marketing services agency in the U.S. exclusively serving a client base of professional practitioners—doctors, dentists, accountants, attorneys and others.
For more than 17 years, he successfully co-led the agency to become the leading brand in professional practice marketing, serving thousands of practices and health care groups, nationwide, with marketing and sales consulting and advertising campaigns. Because of its success, the multi-million dollar agency was successfully sold to New Jersey-based, Medical World Communications.
Consultant, Author, Visionary…
Paul’s leadership experience is broad and diverse. He has a personable and unique counseling style and creative capability, to help improve the lives of owners and their employees. Through PHB Management Advisory Group, Paul now brings his business leadership, enthusiasm and expertise to growth-stage business CEOs, Boards of Directors, and Advisory Boards in both the manufacturing and service sectors.
Paul co-authored, “Take This Job and Shove It Love It – a parable for managers”, endorsed by best-selling business author and speaker Brian Tracy. The instructive and entertaining book provides a unique point of view for managers and employees, allowing them to rethink the motives for achievement and the energy that drives people to success. The result is an engaging and effective approach for managers to inspire the best from their people and get the best from their own lives. (Sycamore Canyon Publishing, 2010)
